Is controversial sexy actress Krista Ranillo, who has been romantically linked to new People's Champ Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao, back in the country?

abs-cbnNEWS.com received information from a source that Krista, will appear in public together with her father, actor Matt Ranillo III, on Thursday.

The buzz is that father and daughter will grace the launching of their latest endorsement, Shimmian Manila Surgicenter.

The source said a press conference will be held at a restaurant in Tomas Morato, Quezon City on December 3 at 7 p.m ..

In an interview, Gigi Mendoza, PR head of Shimmian Manila Surgicenter, confirmed that they will be holding an event.

But when asked to confirm if Krista and Matt will grace the event, Mendoza replied: "Hindi na siguro darating sa event."

If she shows up, Krista is expected to be asked about reports linking her to the new World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight champion.

Krista and Pacquiao have been at the center of the controversy ever since she admitted that she saw Pacquiao in Hong Kong in a chance encounter. Since then, photos and video of them together have been uploaded and circulated in the Internet.

Both Krista's and Pacquiao's camp have denied the reports. Pacman even apologized to Ranillos family. He maintained that the actress, who is part of his upcoming film, "Wapakman," is just a close friend.

Last week, Ranillos divulged that their family is already getting death threats as a result of persistent rumors about Pacquiao and Krista.

No affair, says Matt

The Ranillos made this revelation in a statement sent to ABS-CBN News.

In the statement, signed by Matt, the family categorically denied any inappropriate relationship between Pacquiao and Krista.

They claimed that the death threats came from “some unknown individuals who are claiming that such inappropriate relationship exists.”

The family also appealed to the media “to exercise balance, fairness and accuracy in their reporting.”

The Ranillos said they have hired lawyer Tonisito Umali, a Philippine and California lawyer, to serve as their legal counsel and spokesman.

According to the statement, Umali is studying whether television shows, news programs and major newspapers violated the rights of the Ranillos in reporting the alleged illicit affair.

The lawyer is also studying the “derogatory and untruthful comments made by Ms Gina Alajar in her Facebook (and published in major newspapers and shown in major TV shows) and other media personalities to determine whether such comments are considered unprotected speech or libelous.”

As of posting time, abs-cbnNEWS.com was still trying to get confirmation of Krista's and Matt’s arrival from the US.
