DJ AM, the stage name of disc jockey Adam Goldstein whose music could be heard on albums by Madonna and Will Smith, was found dead in his New York apartment on Friday, police said. He was 36.

Police said no foul play was suspected in the death of Goldstein, who socialized with Hollywood celebrities and in 2008 survived a plane crash with Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker.

Media reports said Goldstein was found with prescription pill bottles near his body after he had not been heard from for days.

As a DJ, his work appeared on albums by Madonna, Will Smith, Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds and Papa Roach. He performed at clubs in Las Vegas, Los Angeles and elsewhere.

With the band Crazy Town, Goldstein had the 2001 hit song "Butterfly" but the group broke up two years later.

He partnered with Barker of punk band Blink 182 last year to create a live DJ and drum performance and the duo played occasionally at clubs and other concert venues.

In September 2008, Goldstein and Barker were in a private plane that crashed while taking off from an airport in South Carolina. The two pilots and two passengers were killed.

Goldstein and Barker suffered serious burns and were hospitalized in critical condition.

Goldstein posted his last known public remarks on the social networking website Twitter on Tuesday when he wrote: "New york, new york. Big city of dreams, but everything in new york aint always what it seems."

The words were lyrics from a song by Grandmaster Flash, a pioneer of hip-hop music.

Goldstein dated reality TV star Nicole Richie, to whom he was at one point engaged, and later went out with singer and actress Mandy Moore.

Star Cinema aims to reach ‘win-win’ solution with SM

MANILA – The managing director of Star Cinema is hoping that the “collection and computation issues” of the ABS-CBN’s movie outfit with SM theaters will be resolved soon.

According to Malou Santos, the Star Cinema management wants to reach a win-win situation with SM malls.

“Ang nais lang naman ng Star Cinema ay maayos na komputasyon, pantay na hatian, at maayos na partnership. Sa madaling sabi---hating kapatid,” Santos said in a statement.

She added: “Umaasa kami na maaayos ang sitwasyong ito sa lalong madaling panahon. Aming nilalayon ang isang win-win situation na magbibigay ng karampatang benipisyo sa Star Cinema at sa aming mga partners tulad ng SM.”

The dispute between Star Cinema and SM managements reportedly led to the non-screening of “And I Love You So” in all SM theaters.

Reports said the row stemmed from Star Cinema’s decision to hold the premiere of the movie at Trinoma. Both parties, however, denied the reports.

Directed by Laurenti Dyogi, Bea Alonzo, Sam Milby and Derek Ramsay are the lead stars of "And I Love You So."

The popular rock group Aerosmith known for hit singles like "Crazy" and "I Don't Want Miss A Thing" announced to cut its US tour due to injuries suffered by its vocalist, Steven Tyler, during a concert in South Dakota.

The group said in their statement that Tyler fell from the stage during an August 5 show that was part of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in western South Dakota.

In that accident Tyler got broken shoulder and stitches to the singer's head. After receiving treatment at a local hospital, the lead singer returned to Boston to consult with his own doctors.

Guitarist Joe Perry thanked the group's fans "for sticking by us through thick and thin" and their understanding.

"We hope we can get the Aerosmith machine up and running again as soon as possible," he added.

The film will be produced by Legendary Pictures, Dark Castle Entertainment and Silver Pictures, and is scheduled to be released on November 25, 2009 by Warner Bros. Pictures

The story is all about the political life of the former president on how she deal all the turmoils and how she successfully overcome it and turn into a democracy icon.

The arc of Corazon Aquino's life lent itself to maxims, but two hard-nosed ones seem particularly worth pointing out. First, political sainthood is a gift from heaven with a Cinderella deadline — once past midnight, you are a pumpkin. Second, personal virtues are never a guarantee of effective or successful governance. What was truly shocking about Aquino's tumultuous six-year term as President of the Philippines was that those maxims proved untrue. Midnight always threatened Aquino but never struck; and she was a good woman whose goodness alone, at the very end, was what proved enough, if only by an iota, to save her country.
